It was brought to our attention that versions 1.40 through 1.42 app updates of Image to Text OCR Scanner is requiring READ_PHONE_STATE permission, which allows the app to read sensitive phone information like phone number and phone ID. Please be informed that this permission was added by mistake and has been removed from the permissions that the app requires. We have issued an update that would resolve this problem (version 1.43).
Your privacy is our top priority and we can assure you that we would never collect sensitive information from your phone. It appears that this permission added itself upon building the app while using an external SDK of one of the Android Java libraries (a java library that would help reading PDF files).
